I'm Mexican, so naturally:

I come from amazing people, ingenuity is in my nature, and creation runs in my blood.

I'm currently working on a memoir and applying for a Ph.D program.

Since its public premiere in April 2023 at Lake Forest College’s Annual Student Symposium, this autobiographical documentary has sparked many meaningful conversations with people in ways I could have never imagined. It has been screened at the NCSS National Conference in Boston in 2024, as part of the Lake County Film Festival in 2023, for several nonprofit events and spaces, and in countless classrooms throughout the country. It began as my senior seminar submission, after Professor Dan LeMahieu invited our class to rethink what it meant to turn in an assignment and create something truly meaningful to us.

The film has since become a spark, helping ignite countless others to share their story.

Stop Doing Everything is my first published written work.  It is part personal reflection, part spiritual philosophy, and part call to reimagine the way we live, learn, and teach. Written in the wake of personal tragedy and during a time of global unrest, it began with a single phrase that helped me process grief and find clarity: “stop doing everything.”

What started as a mantra became a guiding philosophy. In this piece, I explore how stepping back from the noise of the world can help us reconnect with our inner selves, reflect more deeply, and live with greater purpose. Blending personal experience with ideas from Buddhism to education reform, and pulling from thinkers like Ram Dass and John Dewey, the work invites readers to question their assumptions, slow down, and seek meaning in the present moment.

While this marks my first step into published writing, I consider it largely unfinished—a foundation I plan to expand upon as I continue to explore the connections between education and spirituality.
